Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life: Vol. 1

ScottPilgrim_PLLMy daughter borrowed this graphic novel from a friend. Since I saw the film, I figured I’d quickly read the book before she returned it. The great thing about a graphic novel is that you can read one in a couple of hours.

I found the book entertaining and actually laughed out loud several times. Bryan Lee O’Malley does a great job of capturing the language and awkwardness of youth. And I related to Scott Pilgrim as a character. Scott’s a musician and a nerd, and he finds it difficult to communicate with the girl he’s attracted to. He tries to say things that are cool, but comes off sounding stupid.

I’d say the book is definitely worth a read. It’s quick and fun, and you might just see yourself in there.
