I don’t have a whole lot to say about this issue. It didn’t suck, but it kind of feels like the direction is getting lost. The writing was kind of choppy and I felt kind of meh when I was done reading it. Maybe my expectations were too high. I don’t know. I’ll give it another chance and see where next month’s issue takes us.
The most interesting part of this comic was the opening.
To get through a war, a man needs something bigger than himself to fight for. The fate of people he cares for. The state of the world he leaves behind. The honor of a promise.
I have wondered what might possibly cause me to fight. As I see protesters rising up and fighting for social and political change, I can’t help but wonder what finally brings people to that point. Is there a cause that I would fight for? Maybe, but I don’t know what that would be. Certainly I would fight to protect my family. It’s not an easy question to answer.
You know what I love about reading? Even when you read something that is not that interesting, you can still get something out of it. That’s the case for me with this comic. Time spent reading is never wasted time.
