Thank You for Ten Years!

It’s hard to believe that I have been doing this for 10 years now. During that time, I managed to publish 1,186 posts which resulted in 943,802 views (almost a million). I’ve had great discussions with many of you and value your insights. I am truly grateful.

Having said that, it is time to make some changes. I will confess that I originally planned to retire this blog. Ten years is a long time. Longer than I have kept any one job. Hell, the national average for the length of a marriage in the United States is only eight years! Add to that the fact that I am embarking on a new career path in research which will be demanding a lot from me, both in time and energy, and it was clear to me that I could not continue putting the same level of energy into this blog as I did in the past.

After consideration, I decided that instead of retiring the blog, I would just change my format. Instead of offering my thoughts and analyses on the things I read, I will just share quotes from the books and poems that I read in my abundant free time (yes, that is a joke). Hopefully, I will still be able to provide some wisdom and inspiration through the quotes.

Again, I want to thank you for sharing in my musings over these 10 years, and for understanding my need to scale back at this time in my life. Many blessings!

— Jeff

  1. Congratulations! On your ten year anniversary, and also on starting a new exciting career path. I’ve often marveled at how you keep up with all the reading you do, as well as young long, interesting and thoughtful analysis of what you read. Those kinds of posts are extremely time-consuming! I’m not surprised that under the circumstances you are looking for a leaner format. I like what you’ve planned. I love quotes, and collect them all the time, so I’ll be eagerly awaiting their arrival in my inbox. Take care, and wishing you every success on the job and on your blog.

    • Thank you so much for your kind words Deborah. It is because of people like you that I could not just stop completely. I’m glad that my new format appeals to you, and as always, I love getting comments from you. Cheers!

    Cheers pal.
